Father's Day Weekend In Review and Interview

Last weekend was wonderful. We picked up our daughter from summer camp after being away for a week. She gave me a lot of flack about going but in the end she loved it and met some new friends! She went to a music camp and on Saturday put on a performance for the parents and family. She did wonderful!

On Father's Day we doted on my husband. I made all his favorite things to eat. He had my french toast with strawberries, cream and glazed pecans for breakfast, pita sandwiches for lunch and fall-off-the-bone short rib sandwiches with kicked up cole slaw. He loved it all!
Jay is such an amazing father! I love how we have grown together on this journey as parents. He is our superstar, you should see the kids when he pulls into the drive after work, they are screaming with laughter while running to the door to greet him. And he never misses a beat even though I know he is tired he jumps right in the role of ninja kung-fu fighter for the boys and listener for our daughter.

I did an Father's Day interview with the kids and asked them a series of questions about their dad that I found on A Thoughtful Place Blog. Here are their answers accompanied by some of our favorite photos of dad.

I love doing this interview with my kids! It was so much fun hearing their answers, especially my 5 year old's. He thinks his daddy is 93! Ha! :)

With all the Father's Day fun we had this weekend my husband and I both wish we could have spent the day with our own fathers. My dad and I have a special bond and friendship and I miss seeing him everyday. My dad called me a couple of weeks ago to ask me to come home. I couldn't understand why and immediately thought something was wrong but he told me that he wanted me home simply because he missed me! Love him bunches!

My father-in-law and I have a great relationship as well. He treats me like I was one of his own, like a daughter and that means a lot to me!

I hope you had a great Father's Day last weekend! How did you dote on your father or significant others? See ya soon!

P.S. This is my 100th post!! Amazing, I tell ya! I plan on doing a little upgrade for ChippaSunshine in honor of my 100th post!
