I Mustache You

To Be My Valentine!
My son J and I had a blast making these cute valentines. He asked could he give candy out this year and I thought these would be so much fun to give out. Mustaches are all the rage right now and I wanted to join in on the craze and make some for myself.

If you want to make some of your own for either a birthday, baby shower or even next years valentines day here is what you will need:
Lollipop Mustache Mold - we got ours from Michael's, the mold contained 3 designs and is made by Wilton.
Lollipop Sticks - we used a fun red and white stripe paper straw, we found them at Michael's as well.
Candy Melts - Wilton Candy Melts come in a variety of colors, we used dark cocoa.
Disposable Decorating Bag or Squeeze Bottle - we used a squeeze bottle for added control when pouring the chocolate in the mold.
Treat Bags
Ribbon

To make this sweet gift, just follow the simple instructions on the packaging. Check out this great tutorial on basic chocolate molding if you new to chocolate molding. Here are a few pictures of our process.

This project is so easy you can do this with your kiddos. Here is J filling the molds with chocolate.
Since we used a straw instead of an traditional lollipop stick, I found it easier to insert them last. They are heavier and when you tap the mold they like to pop out of the chocolate. We also needed to prop the straws up to insure that they set correctly in the mold.
They turned out better than I imagined. They are so cute and whimsical. Even adults will love these.
You will need to use a large treat bag as the mustaches are much too wide to use with a regular lollipop treat bag. I made some flags and wrapped them around the straws to serve as his valentine cards. It reads 'I Mustache You To Be My Valentine! Your Friend J.' If you will like the flag template, click here and print.
I hope you all had a lovely valentines day. Dr.J and I went to a get-together at my friends house, followed by the movies. We went to see Die Hard! My honey slept through the entire movie! :)

J is delivering his valentines today to his class. The teacher had to be absent yesterday so they postponed all celebrations until today. I am sure they will love them and find them extremely hilarious. See ya soon!
